UtiliMap - Utility Mass GPS POI Database Viewer and Search Engine
View and search (by text and Voice!) tens of thousands of GPS Locations (also called POIs) from a CSV database quickly and efficiently on an integrated optimized Google Maps overlay.
- Supports both Road and Aerial+Road map layer combinations.
- Supports text and Voice searching (see more about this below).
- Shows your location to help in navigating to the target Location.
- Supports navigation to locations by sending coordinates of selected Locations / POIs to Google Maps
- Set/share a custom marker.
- Designed with Utility Companies in mind.
Currently tested to support 60,000 POI entries but will theoretically work with up to 1 million.
The CSV text format needed is the same CSV POI format used by Garmin(R) GPS systems.
Simply import a CSV text file database and then the app will automatically launch with it.
A couple lines of example entries in a possible CSV file:
Example.csv (longitude, latitude, label)
....
-76.3882236,37.0914212,23/45,
-76.3882514,37.0916281,23/44,
-76.3872029,37.0918279,23/43,
-76.3862493,37.0922269,FARRET SUB,
-76.3852109,37.0922721,ALCO OFFICE,
-80.127249, 39.812226,23/42
....
Example: For the above example CSV you can type "23/" to search all entries of the 23 utility line.
Example: Using the Voice search and saying "23 line structure 44", will automatically convert your words into "23/44" and search for that structure.
